ABQ schools get funds to support tech projects

CenturyLink recently awarded $500,000 nationwide to fund 114 technologyfocused projects, including more than $13,000 to two Albuquerque schools, as part of the CenturyLink Clarke M. Williams Foundation’s 2019-20 Teachers and Technology grant program.

The grants are to support innovative learning and educational opportunities, and will be available once states deem it safe for children to return to school in person, officials said in a news release.

The local awards are:

■ $4,979.25 through Jodi Schultz to Bellehaven Elementary School for a project entitled STEAMing Ahead to the 22nd Century;

■ $3,500 through Christine Hyde to Holy Ghost Catholic School Hands-on Technology Learning for All;

■ $5,000 through Holly Rivera to Holy Ghost Catholic School for Chromebooks for STEM Education; To be eligible, schools need only be located in a CenturyLink service area where the company provides residential phone service.
