AFRL researchers recognized as early career leaders with awards
Innovation Awards aim ‘to bring visibility to valuable scientists and engineers’

The Air Force Research Laboratory recently announced in an online Zoom presentation its third annual Innovation Awards “to bring visibility to valuable scientists and engineers in AFRL’s Space Vehicles and Directed Energy Directorates.”
Tech transfer agreements specialist Melissa Ortiz noted in a news release that “the awards encourage them to broaden their capabilities, and innovative skills.”
Honorees in seven award categories, according to the release, were:
■ Excellence in Technology Transfer award to Dr. Khanh Pham and Dr. Ron Kaspi, AFRL Space Vehicles Directorate
■ Tech Transfer Agreements award to Accelerator Team Capt. Roger Anderson, Dr. Jaime Stearns, Capt. Shannon Young, Space Vehicles Directorate, and to Edward Duff, AFRL Directed Energy Directorate
■ New Inventions award to Jon Allison, AFRL Space Vehicles Directorate
■ Visionary award to Directed Energy Radiation Team Brad Hoff, Kyle Hendricks, Zane Cohick, Jeremy McConaha, Matt Franzi, Samuel Schaub, Andreas Schmitt-Sody, Anthony Baros, Naomi Lewis, Space Vehicles Directorate, and to VIDER Contracting and Finance Team Jaclyn Torres, Brian Roberts, Space Vehicles Directorate
■ Outstanding Division to Spacecraft Technology Division, led by Mark Roverse and Lt. Col. Landon Bastow
■ Support to Tech Transfer award to Logistic Material Control Activity Team Michael Rariden, Valerie Dean, Madleine Sennert, Timothy Sheryl
■ Inventors award to Tech Engagement Office, which processed 36 new inventions from 21 inventors.
